High protein foods

Proteins are macromolecules which consist of large chains of one or more amino acids. Proteins have a number of functions in human body and therefore are considered to be important part of human diet and one should take high protein foods like: creatine, fish, chicken, soy milk and cheese if he does much work like playing physical games and body building. Out of the 20 amino acids found in nature among which human body can make 10. The amino acids which a human body can form itself are called non essential amino acids. The rest of the amino acids which are required by human body are called essential amino acids. It is therefore necessary to include protein in the daily diet in order to stay healthy. Some of the main functions of protein in our body are:

1) Antibodies

Our blood contains two types of cells i.e. red blood cells and white cells. The purpose of white cells is to defend our body from bacteria and virus. These are also called anti bodies. These anti bodies are protein in nature.

2) Enzymes

When any reaction takes place in our body, its progression is slow. The speed of the reaction is increased with the help of enzymes which act as catalyst. These enzymes are protein in nature.

3) Body structure

Most of our body’s mass comes from muscles. Most part of our muscles is made of protein. That is why, when a person increases the ratio of protein in his daily diet then increase in muscle mass is observed.

If a person wants to lead a healthy life, it becomes necessary to maintain a balanced diet which includes a considerable amount of protein in it. The high protein foods include:

1) Cheese

There are various types of cheese but among them ‘low sodium parmesan’ cheese contains the most protein, containing 41.6 grams of protein per 100 grams of serving. Other type including Mozzarella, Swiss and Romano contains 28 to 30 grams of cheese per 100 grams of serving. The soft and spreadable kind of cheese contains the least percentage of protein in them i.e. only 16 grams per 100 grams of serving.

2) Beef

It is considered one of the high protein foods in the diet plan and therefore is used by many body builders in their daily diet. It can also be used by people of older age as it is a complete diet which includes carbohydrates, fats and as well as protein in it but make sure that the level of any of these three things does not goes beyond the required level. more on high protein low carb foods....

3) Pulses

Pulses and peanuts contain a good amount of protein in them and therefore there are several kinds of cereals available which are meant to provide the necessary amount of protein and fiber daily. Peanuts contain 23.7 grams of protein per 100 grams of serving which makes it one of the most rich food item when talking about protein. But make sure that you do not take a large amount of peanut which may lead to allergy from peanuts.
